The main advantage of point to point wireless networks is that you can connect two or more remote points or buildings with little or no underground work. It is basically a tool that cuts back on labor. Any signal that can be converted to a data transmission protocol (IP, RS232, RS485, Etc…) can be sent via
wireless point to point or mesh network. That includes all of our CCTV, Security alarms, Access control and Duress alarms. In fact, anything but a fire alarm, as it is a code requirement that these systems due to the nature of life safety be required to be physically wired or done with fiber that can be monitored for integrity.
Data/Gigabyte Backhaul and Mesh Wireless Network systems can be used as a stand-alone system, or in combination in order to optimize resources and budget. An example of the combination of the Point to Point / Mesh combination system is street-level video surveillance, all with 485 PTZ controls and sound recording/monitoring; with multiple camera locations operating on true mesh links. This would
allow one location to lose its connection, yet the redundancy of the mesh keeps the system operating. An uplink to a single aggregation point from multiple mesh wireless systems allows broadband backhaul to a storage/viewing/listening location. These systems are not only used in new constructions but are regularly mounted on mobile trailers for event monitoring, temporary perimeter protection, unmanned
FEMA or other Gate/Access points, and temporary or overflow parking. IFSS represents a variety of reputable manufacturers such as Motorola, Fluid Mesh, Cypress, Ubiquity, Proxim and Trango - all specifically designed and delivered by IFSS to meet customer needs and budgets.
